Agile in the Bloodstream

Help shape the new book "Agile in the Bloodstream"

Hi,

Google Docs is a big disappointment for me this week. I was planning to write like crazy between Christmas and New Year's, having lots of time at home. But then Google Docs loses all my documents yesterday! Made me mad!

Yes, of course I had backups. But I wasn't doing them every day, so I did lose about 6,000 words (one day's work).

I actually e-mailed John C. Dvorak, a well-known tech columnist, about my problem. Numerous other people are complaining on Google forum's as well. John posted my story here:

http://www.dvorak.org/blog/2008/12/27/is-google-docs-losing-documents-a-reader-laments/

You might want to read through the comments very selectively if at all, Dvorak's blog has a ton of trolls who love to comment on every story.

I will keep writing this week, and hopefully Google will bring back the docs and I can merge the two streams of work before I go back to work Jan 5.

The documents are finally back on Google Docs!! As I said, it didn't matter because I got them through Hong's account, but it took this long to bring them back. Do you think they were all just on vacation???

Google still hasn't fixed the problem yet. I don't care anymore, of course, except I feel bad for all the other people on the thread who still haven't found their stuff. Google says they're working on it and that all the documents are there.

Update. Hong was over at my house this morning and he logged on to his Google Docs account and...Voila!! All the files were there. I quickly downloaded all the latest versions (yes, everything was there) and I'm back at it...locally on my own computer, thank you very much.
